
Alamance County Historic Districts
You may have heard of Alamance County’s more well known historic areas, but did you know that Alamance County has seventeen (17!) distinct historic districts listed on the National Register of Historic Places? Each of these districts represents an important piece of the county’s diverse history and development, including mill villages reflecting the county’s strong textile industrial heritage, early 20th-century residential and downtown commercial districts revealing the area’s urban expansion, and rural districts displaying the importance of agriculture to our community.
